When you didn't get to it

Nothing is ever overdue. It just waits.

No streaks, no red, and no count of how long an unfinished task has waited. A task you didn't get to rolls to tomorrow, a repeating one comes back on its day, and nothing here will shame you for it.

Been away a while? Coming back looks like this:

However long it's been, the past is fine. Nothing's overdue, nothing's lost. Here's just today, when you're ready.

How a day goes

Three calm steps, start to rest.

  1. Brain dump everything.

Type it or say it, one line per thing, in any order. Your first brain dump all lands on Today, nothing hidden. After that, Sort for me can split a dump into today, tomorrow and the ones to break down. Rather not use AI? Turn it off and sort it yourself.

  2. Work through today, only today.

Today holds only today. Anything dated for a later day waits further down, under Later. If today gets full, Lighten today can suggest moving a few things to later days. The day is weighed in plain words, never a number.

  3. Close the day gently.

In the evening, Close the day honours what you did. Anything left rolls to tomorrow. Nothing is lost.

The screen after Close the day: a dusk sky over a closed notebook, and the words "You've closed today."

For the hard parts of a day

Some days are harder. These are here when you need them, and quiet when you don't.

When a task is too big to start

Break it down into small first steps

Answer a few quick questions if you like, and get small steps with a few minutes on each. Tick the last step and the real task is done too. Still too much? Make it tiny: one two-minute way in.

The plan for Do my taxes: four small steps, each with a few minutes and a day.

When there's too much for one day

Have a low day, or lighten it

Tap Low at the top of Today, and what counts as enough gently shrinks. On a packed day, Lighten today suggests moving a few things to later days. Nothing moves until you say yes.

When everything gets loud

Settle, a quiet room in the app

A soft shape breathes slowly, with a breathing guide you can turn off. It's silent, and it's free. With the guide off, quiet lines drift by now and then, like: the list will keep.

Settle: a soft round shape on a plain background, with the guide's words below.

When you share the load with someone

Ours: one list for two people

Anything with a day lands on both your Todays, like bin night. Everything else stays on the list, however long it gets, so your day stays yours. Nothing says who did what. Free, and you both sign in with an email code.

A shared list called Just us: bin night every Sunday, and a parcel to pick up today.

When you look back

What you finish, you keep.

The tasks you finish land in your Calendar, day by day, even the one you put off for weeks. It's there for when your brain says you did nothing. A tick on Today brings a calm line, like “Filed. You can stop checking it now.” So you can.

The Calendar: a soft dot on each day something was finished, and Sunday's list, with Do my taxes.

Small things that help

  • Focus on one thing. Full screen, one task, everything else out of sight.
  • Repeating tasks and routines. Bins and bills come back on Today on their day. Routines start fresh each day, with no streak to keep up.
  • Where you left off. One line for the you who comes back: “Called, ref 4471, ring back Thu.”

On your device by default

  • Your tasks live on your device. What you write never leaves it unless you choose an AI feature or sync. On the web, Speak uses your browser's speech recognition, and Chrome sends that audio to Google.
  • The AI features are on to start, and only send what you use them on. One tap in Settings turns them off, and the app keeps working.
  • No ads. No advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking. Nothing sold.
  • Export your tasks and what you've finished any time. If you signed in, delete your account and synced data in Settings.
  • Everything above is free. Premium adds a few optional extras, and its free month needs a sign-in but no card.

Questions

Who is DoubleDone for?

Adults with ADHD, autism, OCD and overwhelm, including the AuDHD overlap. And anyone whose list has ever felt like too much.

Is it free?

Yes. The whole daily loop is free, for good. Premium adds optional extras: Scan a list, Pin today's one thing, Plan my day, Chart a course, six more colour themes, a weekly scrapbook, Your patterns, and unlimited picks in What fits right now. Its free month needs a sign-in but no card, and it ends on its own.

Do I need an account?

No. Your tasks live on your device, and your own list works fully without signing up. To have the same list on your phone and your laptop, share a list, or start Premium's free month, sign in with your email and a one-time code. There is no password.

Does the AI read my tasks?

Only what you use it on, and you can turn it off. The AI features are on to start. When you use one, like Sort for me, Break it down or Scan, what you chose goes to Anthropic's Claude to do the work, and Anthropic does not train on it. Scrapbook pictures are made with Cloudflare's AI models. We keep a copy without your name or account, to improve how tasks get broken down. One tap in Settings turns the AI off, and the app keeps working.

Where does it work?

On iPhone, Android and any modern browser. The phone apps work offline, and an open browser tab keeps going if the connection drops. The AI features and syncing need a connection. Per-task reminders, Hold me to it and Rhythms work in the phone apps, and Android also has a home-screen widget. It follows your device's language: English, German, Spanish, French or Italian.

Is DoubleDone a medical device?

No. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care. It is a to-do app, made to be gentle.

How do I delete my data?

You can export your tasks and what you've finished any time, in Settings. Removing the app removes what is on your device, and in a browser, clearing this site's data does the same. If you signed in, you can also delete your account in Settings.

When you're ready, start with today.
